The Adani Group today said it will invest over ₹1,060 crore to set up a new cement grinding unit in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district, marking another step in the conglomerate’s broader ₹1.1 lakh crore investment commitment to the state.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Adani Cement plant in Guna, Pranav Adani, director of Adani Enterprises  said the project would be developed in two phases with an annual capacity of 40 lakh metric tonnes, with the first phase targeted for commissioning by 2028.

“This project will be completed in two phases, with an annual capacity of 40 lakh metric tonnes. The target is to commission Phase One by 2028,” Adani said. “An investment of over ₹1,060 crore will be made in this project. This is the largest investment in Guna to date.”

The project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for around 1,500 people and contribute more than ₹6,000 crore to the state treasury over time, according to the company.

The announcement comes as the group deepens its presence in Madhya Pradesh across cement, energy and infrastructure. During the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal last year, Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani had announced investments worth ₹1,10,000 crore for the state across hydro pumped storage, cement, mining, smart meters and thermal energy projects. The investments are expected to create 1.2 lakh jobs by 2030.

“Today’s groundbreaking ceremony marks a firm step towards translating that very promise into reality on the ground,” Adani said, adding that the group’s focus was on creating employment opportunities and supporting local economic activity in the region.

The company also outlined its existing footprint in the state. Adani said the group has already invested more than ₹4,000 crore in the Ametha and Kymor plants in Katni district, while Adani Power currently supplies 1,200 MW of electricity to Madhya Pradesh. Preparations are also underway to add another 5,600 MW of power generation capacity.

He added that the group has commissioned wind energy projects in Lahori, Dhar, Ratlam and Ujjain, and plans to soon lay the foundation for another cement plant in Ujjain.

“Currently, Adani Cement has a capacity of 109 MTPA, and we are continuously expanding,” Adani said. “Our endeavor is to establish a production and supply network that ensures our cement reaches people quickly, keeps costs low, and maintains consistent quality.”

The group said the Guna project is expected to create opportunities beyond the factory itself, including in transportation, local supply chains and small businesses in surrounding areas.

“This is not merely an investment in a cement plant. It is an investment based on trust in the people of Madhya Pradesh. It is an investment in the future of the local youth,” Adani said.
