Indian Chemical Council (ICC), the apex national body of chemical companies in India, has teamed up with Intel India to identify the digital future needs of the chemical industry and to improve standards of chemicals transportation fleets.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between ICC and Intel India to improve the safety and operational efficiency of chemical transport fleets. It will leverage best-in-class safety technology like an advanced driver assistance system, say ICC sources.

The chemical industry is one of the fastest growing industries for decades now and more than 80,000 chemical products of both hazardous and non-hazardous are being transported over the length and breadth of the country. The logistics sector in India is yet to have global standards, as the policies and regulations are still evolving, says Ravi Goenka, President of the Indian Chemical Council (ICC).
