Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Param Sundari has seen a mediocre start at the box office. The film has garnered a total India net collection of ₹30.25 crore, according to box office collection data provider Sacnilk.
The film collected ₹7.25 crore on Day 1, followed by ₹9.25 crore on Day 2, and around ₹10.25 crore on Day 3, Sunday. On its first Monday, the film is estimated to have earned only ₹3.50 crore, according to Sacnilk.
The film's combined net collection of these four days is much lower than single opening day collections of both Coolie and War 2, the recently released multi-starrer films that Param Sundari is now competing with in the cinemas.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan-led Maddock Films, the film is directed by Tushar Jalota, who also directed the 2022 film Dasvi starring Abhishek Bachchan and had previously assisted Anurag Basu in his 2012 film Barfi!

As India continues to be the world’s fastest-growing major economy, Fortune India presents its special issue on the nation’s Top 100 Billionaires. Curated in partnership with Waterfield Advisors, this year’s list reflects a slight decline in the number of dollar billionaires—from 185 to 182—even as the entry threshold for the Top 100 rose to ₹24,283 crore, up from ₹22,739 crore last year. From stalwarts like Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and the Mistry family, who continue to lead the list, to major gainers such as Sunil Mittal and Kumar Mangalam Birla, the issue goes beyond the numbers to explore the resilience, ambition, and strategic foresight that define India’s wealth creators. Read their compelling stories in the latest issue of Fortune India. On stands now.
Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor are in the lead, supported by Sanjay Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Renji Panicker, Inayat Verma, and Siddhartha Shankar in supporting roles.
With lack of originality and an identity of its own in both the plot and its execution, the film appears to have received largely mediocre reviews, with many pointing out its predictable storyline, reliance on clichés, and use of the same repetitive tropes.
The mediocrity resembles the film's theatre occupancy levels as well. On its first Monday, Param Sundari recorded an overall occupancy of just 10.67% across theatres, according to Sacnilk data. The film saw highest occupancy levels during afternoon shows, followed by night and evening shows. Across cities, response remains muted, as most cities have 10-15% of occupancy levels.
It thus seems that Param Sundari will have some difficulty, if at all it is able to, in reaching the ₹100 crore mark. Until then, Malhotra and Kapoor will continue to have their pre-pandemic films (Ek Villain and Dhadak) as their highest-grossing films of all time.
