Deloitte India and Embassy Group ’s Global Capability Centre platform Embark have formed a strategic alliance to provide integrated, end-to-end solutions for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India. Announced on Wednesday, the partnership aims to support global enterprises across the entire GCC lifecycle, from strategy and setup to operations and governance, with a single-window execution model.

“We are delighted to partner with Deloitte India to offer a first-of-its-kind, integrated GCC solution in India. Our combined strengths will enable global companies to seamlessly enter and scale in the Indian market, using world-class infrastructure,” said Aravind Maiya, Co-founder & CEO of Embark, in a statement.

Currently, the country has over 1,800 GCCs and this number is expected to go up to anywhere between 2,400 and 5,000 by 2030. The economic contribution from these centres has almost seen a four-fold increase $19 billion in 2015 to over $68 billion in 2024. Traditionally seen as cost-saving hubs, GCCs are now evolving into strategic value creators with capabilities in AI, engineering, R&D and other emerging technologies.

India's Top 100 Billionaires

August 2025

As India continues to be the world’s fastest-growing major economy, Fortune India presents its special issue on the nation’s Top 100 Billionaires. Curated in partnership with Waterfield Advisors, this year’s list reflects a slight decline in the number of dollar billionaires—from 185 to 182—even as the entry threshold for the Top 100 rose to ₹24,283 crore, up from ₹22,739 crore last year. From stalwarts like Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and the Mistry family, who continue to lead the list, to major gainers such as Sunil Mittal and Kumar Mangalam Birla, the issue goes beyond the numbers to explore the resilience, ambition, and strategic foresight that define India’s wealth creators. While large multinationals have dominated the GCC landscape, a growing trend is the entry of mid-sized enterprises. As of 2024, around 480 mid-market companies operate GCCs in India, making up 27% of the total. This indicates a broader base of global firms looking to leverage India's talent pool and digital infrastructure beyond the traditional metro cities.

“What we are seeing today is not just the growth of GCCs, but a fundamental shift in how global organisations view India as a strategic hub for innovation, beyond mere execution. Yet, many companies struggle to convert vision into reality due to a lack of a trusted advisor-led support system,” said Deepak Mowdhgalya, Partner, Deloitte India, in a statement

The Deloitte–Embark alliance is positioned to support this next wave of GCC growth. It will offer global organisations assistance across all stages of GCC development, including location strategy, operating model design, legal and tax advisory, compliance, facility setup, and ongoing operational support. This will cover key functions such as finance, procurement, HR, payroll, and risk management.

There is growing demand for execution-focused platforms that can streamline entry and scale-up in complex markets like India. By combining Deloitte’s experience in strategic advisory and transformation with Embark’s on-ground execution and infrastructure support, the alliance aims to simplify this process for companies.

India’s real estate giant Embassy Group launched Embark in March earlier this year as country’s first fully integrated platform designed to enable and accelerate the GCCs establishment.
