IndiGo on Tuesday announced a sale exclusively for its all-new business cabin, IndiGoStretch. With fares starting as low as ₹9,999, this sale is live from May 6, 2025, to May 9, 2025, for travel booked at least 7 days in advance. Passengers can now avail of the priority services and comfort of IndiGoStretch at a discounted rate.
IndiGo offers business class only on a few metro routes. IndiGoStretch is currently operational on Delhi - Mumbai, Delhi – Bengaluru, Delhi - Chennai, Delhi - Hyderabad, and Mumbai - Bengaluru routes.
By the end of 2025, IndiGo is looking to equip 45 aircraft with IndiGoStretch business cabin. “Every week a new Stretch plane is coming in. That is very difficult for others to do. It takes a long time. That's scalability and the strength of IndiGo and its people is we can scale up very fast,” IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers recently told Fortune India in an interview.
“Delhi-Mumbai Stretch is going very well. It’s the busiest route of the nation. The others not yet,” Elbers said.
IndiGoStretch is tailor-made for the Indian consumers, said Elbers. “We have 12 Stretch seats only and remaining 208 seats are all economy. I think India is the most competitive market in the world. It is one of the most value conscious markets in the world. Why I believe that we will be successful in business class is pretty much the same story: a good product which is price effective. What we have done is we have kind of looked at all the elements of a business class product. You could say, you should have a lounge. We don’t have a lounge. Are you ready to pay ₹500-₹1,000 on your ticket more to go to the lounge. Probably, you say no. So then we have this discussion about hot meals. I’d say it’s an ongoing topic. We have good quality meals. That’s it,” Elbers explained.
India’s biggest airline is not letting go of its deeply-rooted trait of cost effectiveness even with IndiGoStretch. That’s the reason why IndiGo does not serve hot meals in the business cabin and doesn’t offer lounge benefits. “Even for the premium product, there is a value-consciousness which is deeply rooted in the Indian consumer’s mind,” Elbers added.
“As a market leader, we want to be an airline for all business segments. But we want to do it in a way which is tailor-made for the Indian consumer,” said Elbers. “As India is evolving and a new set of aspirational travellers are emerging, and given who we are in the market and where we are, it would be a missed opportunity not to address it.”
IndiGoStretch customers enjoy complimentary benefits like priority check-in, anytime boarding, advance seat selection, and zero convenience fee. IndiGoStretch offers a baggage allowance starting from 30 kg (two bags) in check-in and one bag of 12 kg in the cabin. Alongside the offering on domestic network, IndiGoStretch is offered to the customers on the Delhi-Bangkok route.
