Oppo is gearing up to launch its much-anticipated F29 5G series in India on March 20 at 12 pm IST. The series will include two models — the Oppo F29 5G and the Oppo F29 Pro 5G — and will be available for purchase through Amazon, Flipkart, and the Oppo India e-store. The company has confirmed key specifications, colour options, and availability details, positioning the F29 series as a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the Oppo F27 5G, which debuted in August 2024.

Oppo F29 5G: Design and Build

Oppo has smartly marketed the F29 5G series as a "durable champion," and rightly so. The phone boasts of having a 360-degree Armour Body and military-grade MIL-STD-810H-2022 certification. According to the company, the phones have undergone over 14 military-grade environmental tests conducted by SGS in India, underscoring their durability in harsh conditions. With IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, the devices promise resistance to dust and water, including underwater usage.

Oppo has incorporated several design features to enhance durability, including Sponge Bionic Cushioning, a Raised Corner Design Cover, a Lens Protection Ring, and an aerospace-grade aluminium alloy internal frame. One of the models is confirmed to have a sleek 7.55mm profile and weigh just 180g, ensuring a lightweight yet sturdy feel.

Oppo F29 5G: Performance and Display

The Oppo F29 5G is expected to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals and vibrant colours. It will likely be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage for enhanced performance. Reports suggest it could house a 6,500mAh battery with support for 85W fast charging.

The Oppo F29 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is expected to feature a 6.7-inch quad-micro-curved AMOLED display with the same 120Hz refresh rate. It will reportedly run on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, offering enhanced speed and efficiency. The Pro model is expected to support up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. A 50MP main camera is also rumoured to be part of the package.

Oppo F29 5G: Colours and Pricing

The Oppo F29 5G will be available in Glacier Blue and Solid Purple colour options, while the F29 Pro 5G will be offered in Granite Black and Marble White shades. The F29 Pro 5G is expected to be priced under ₹25,000 for the base 8GB + 128GB variant, with a higher 8GB + 256GB model also likely. The Oppo F29 is speculated to fall in the ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 price bracket, positioning it as a competitive mid-range option.

Both models will run on ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, delivering a clean and responsive user experience. The F29 Pro’s 80W SuperVOOC charging is expected to provide rapid power-ups, while the powerful batteries are designed to support extended use.
