In a big win for US President Donald Trump, the US Congress has passed the landmark “One Big Beautiful Bill” by a vote of 218 to 214 on Thursday.

The House of Representatives passed the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill,' giving final approval to Trump’s landmark legislation in what is being called the “biggest legislative win of President Trump’s two terms.”

Now, the largest middle-class tax cut in American history is on its way to President Trump’s desk.

“The Republicans in the House of Representatives have just passed the ‘ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT.’ Our Party is UNITED like never before and, our Country is “HOT.” We are going to have a Signing Celebration at the White House tomorrow, at 4 P.M. EST. All Congressmen/women and Senators are invited,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“Together, we will celebrate our Nation’s Independence, and the beginning of our new Golden Age. The people of the United States of America will be Richer, Safer, and Prouder than ever before,” Trump said, thanking speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and all Republican Members of Congress who helped deliver on his promise. “Together, we can do things that were not even imagined possible less than one year ago. We will keep working, and winning — CONGRATULATIONS AMERICA!” said Trump.

In a statement, the White House said, “Again and again, Democrats tried to block historic tax relief, increased border security, higher wages, an expanded Child Tax Credit, No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, No Tax on Social Security, savings accounts for newborns, and so much more — but again and again, President Trump and Republicans fought and won for the American people.”

The White House has earlier urged the House of Representatives to act swiftly, aiming for final passage before July 4 so the President can sign it into law.

The legislation extends sweeping Trump-era tax reforms framed as a pro-growth agenda to maintain U.S. global competitiveness. Beyond tax relief, the bill includes major investments in air traffic control modernisation, spectrum access, renewable fuel incentives, veteran-support measures, border security, and welfare reforms.

The "no tax on tips" measure in the budget bill delivers on one of Trump's key campaign pledges. The bill passed by the House, would let individuals deduct a portion of their tip earnings and overtime pay from their taxable income. However, these benefits would be gradually reduced for higher earners, beginning at $150,000 for single filers and $300,000 for couples filing jointly.
