P.D.Singh takes charge as Standard Chartered CEO for India and South Asia
Prior to Standard Chartered, P.D. Singh was the CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank in India. 

Standard Chartered has officially appointed P D Singh as India & South Asia's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 1 April 2025. Singh succeeds Zarin Daruwala, who retired on March 31, 2025, after a distinguished tenure.

P.D. Singh brings with him a wealth of experience from close to three decades in banking and finance, spanning leadership and coverage roles across European and American banks. 

Prior to Standard Chartered, P.D. Singh was the CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank in India, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s corporate banking franchise as a founding member. 

Under his leadership, the bank won multiple industry awards and recognition for outstanding performance. Before JP Morgan, P.D. Singh was at HSBC, where he spent a decade covering leadership roles across corporate and commercial banking. A double MBA with an engineering degree, he has made an impactful contribution to the financial sector.

On his LinkedIn profile, he said, "As I take on the baton, I feel an immense sense of pride as I have the exciting opportunity to captain a storied brand with a rich association with India, spanning more than 165 years. It is a legacy built on a solid foundation comprising relationships and trust, and I am eagerly looking forward to working alongside my wonderful colleagues to further build on this heritage."
