The $10 million acquisition of Market Motive in Silicon Valley wasn’t the only highlight of 2015 for Kumar. He tripled Market Motive’s revenue in six months by harnessing SimpliLearn’s 400,000 paid learners. Market Motive, whose digital marketing courses have over 50 enterprise customers, helped SimpliLearn expand its catalogue. But a bigger breakthrough was the introduction of a ‘flexi-pass’ to help working professionals who may miss out on a class. SimpliLearn is on track to touch $100 million in revenue next year. Not bad for something that began as a blog to train IT professionals.
