Three years ago, Jamal, with Mark Risher and Vish Ramarao, founded Impermium, a cyber-security outfit in Redwood City, California. The technology can process security breaches in real time on 150,000 websites, including CNN Sports, Tumblr, and Pinterest. It identifies the newest threats on the least conspicuous blogs or portals, learns the attributes of the attacker, and sends a warning to its member sites. Last June, Jamal moved to India to strengthen Impermium’s tech team. And in mid-January, Google acquired it.
