Deshpande chose to back two diverse investment opportunities in the past year— Trishe Renewable Energy and MEdRC EduTech received commitments of $30 million each. The former is one of India’s first renewable energy developers, while the latter creates econtent in healthcare education. In the past four years, NEA has invested more than Rs 1,000 crore in nine companies. Deshpande defines her approach to investing as “taking differentiated bets across different sectors, stages, periods of time, and investments”.
