In 2015, NEA raised a $3 billion fund, which Deshpande has now started using. The firm has invested in six companies across multiple sectors, including wearable fitness products start-up firm Goqii, and Greytip Software, a cloud-based HR and payroll processing company. NEA also invested in Xpressbees, the logistics business spun out of baby, and maternity products retailer First- Cry. Deshpande and her team also worked with the existing companies in their portfolio to raise capital. According to NEA, their existing portfolio of companies has seen a 2x markup in value since their investment.
