Pudumjee has zoomed up the rankings for many reasons. Chief among them is her commitment to the cause of clean energy. In April, Thermax acquired the assets of Denmark- based DP CleanTech, which is expected to give manufacturing support to an earlier acquisition, boiler maker Danstoker. Despite a 10% fall in consolidated sales in FY13, investors are bullish on Thermax, whose stock moved up from Rs 388 in December 2011 to Rs 620 levels now. A shift from infrastructure projects to better-performing industries like food processing saw a 20% growth in new orders.
