NRB’s revenues were flat at around Rs 700 crore, but that’s actually a huge plus in Zaveri’s book. It shows that her company was relatively unscathed by the fallout of the major shakeup at the Volkswagen Group last year. All suppliers and vendors to the German giant were affected, but Zaveri says her other businesses made up for this hit. It has also encouraged her to diversify her client base. While she has bagged a couple of big names from auto this year (Ducati and Mitsubishi), she’s betting big on aerospace and defence; she's looking to make parts for drones. With exports to Audi back on track, and its new factory in Thailand open for business, the company is expected to perform better this year, with brokerages setting a buy on the stock. Reports also say that the implementation of new safety norms for twowheelers from April next year will mean increased demand for expensive sensor-based bearings rather than the cheaper conventional bearings. Ever conscious that India's future is built on a young population, Zaveri has ensured that one third of her employee base is under the age of 30. A graduate of the Wellesley College in Massachusetts, Zaveri loves to unwind with a book. These days, she’s reading The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden, a novel by Jonas Jonasson, and says she’s enjoying it for the charming account of the protagonist’s adventures.
