For new entrant Dasgupta, one key accomplishment has been to establish IBM’s leadership in artificial intelligence (AI)-driven business process and IT automation. This was made possible, she says, by embedding AI into the automation platform and bringing together assets and capabilities from IBM’s worldwide research into use-cases. This allows IBM India to establish the right relationships with industry verticals and service partners. She is also working hard to ensure businesses realise the importance of AI and cloud transformation. Hence, she is busy creating a trusted AI system, which is not only free from bias and avoids unfair treatment of certain groups when drawing insights from data but is also safe and secure and cannot be tampered with. The AI system will no longer be a black box, but will explain why it took a decision at that particular point.
