President, Jagran Prakashan Group

Previous Rank : NEW

Purohit has as 30 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry. From creating The Times of India’s entry plan into television to working on the turnaround of Zee TV, she has seen it all. Last year, Radio City was listed in one of the few successful initial public offerings (IPOs) in recent times. The IPO was oversubscribed—a feather in the cap for Purohit who was then chief executive of Radio City before the business was sold to Jagran Prakashan. Under her aegis, Jagran Prakashan was able to weather the twin blows of the goods and services tax and demonetisation, which impacted advertisement revenues. In FY18, Jagran Prakashan’s revenues from the digital business grew 16%. She continues to invest her energy to make the organisation more agile, and streamline all the verticals.
