Exits are crucial in private equity (PE) investing. And Multiples has excelled in them: The Ramnath-led PE firm has exited fully or partially from nine of its 11 investments. She says Multiples has the acumen and the ability to invest in “unique” opportunities and knows how to evaluate and mitigate the risks of its investments. Take the case of Vastu Housing Finance, an affordable housing finance firm. The PE firm incubated Vastu and empowered it by bringing in a strong management team, using technology and seeding with the right level of capital. “While the NBFCs in the country were impacted by both performance and a liquidity crisis, Vastu stands tall today: profitable, well-capitalised, with longterm lines of credit, an upgrade in its rating, and an AUM of nearly ₹1,400 crore built over two years,” she says. With over $1 billion in AUM, Ramnath wants to continue partnering Indian entrepreneurs and businesses by providing growth capital, solutions, and strategies for sustainable growth.
