Kalli Purie, 

Appointed vice chairperson of the India Today Group in 2017, Purie has overseen growth across television and print for the media conglomerate. She has been particularly instrumental in keeping the group firmly in the digital game, having spearheaded the launch of five web portals—TheLallantop, DailyO, OddNaari, Pakwangali, and iChowk. Hindi news platform TheLallantop recently received the YouTube Diamond Play Button for 10 million subscribers and achieved a viewership growth of over 130% in FY20. In the TV business, Aaj Tak tops the list for gross news consumption and the percentage of unique users who watched content in the video news channels category. In fact, the TV Today Network reached an average monthly coverage of 266 million during FY20, touching an all-time high of 341 million in March 2020. Purie also oversees the publishing business, which includes magazines like India Today, Business Today, Cosmopolitan, and Reader’s Digest. She has also become the face of the group’s flagship thought leadership event, The India Today Conclave, which has had attendees such as Bill Clinton, James Cameron, and Yuval Noah Harari, among others.
