As a member of the Apeejay Surrendra Group—a conglomerate that has interests in hotels, real estate, retail, and more—Paul heads the chain of luxury hotels, The Park. This year, before the pandemic, it filed for an IPO worth over ₹1,000 crore, in order to retire its ₹450-crore debt. Covid-19 dealt a blow to the hospitality industry and Paul’s hotel chain was hurt. How well she steers her company through these challenges is something time will tell.
