For Zia Mody, co-founder, law firm AZB & Partners, if 2020 was about managing the $20-billion global mop-up by RIL's Jio Platforms and also advising the firm on its rights issue, this year has so far been all about negotiating complex insolvency cases such as DHFL and Jet Airways, while also working with the Tatas on Air India disinvestment. "Couple of things worked out for us this year, including the rising number of insolvency and bankruptcy cases," says Mody. More IBC cases will come up in the near future and with Covid cases coming down, litigations, too, are expected to be on the rise, she adds. Mody also expects more deals in the start-up segment going forward. "I see unmatched start-up funding coming up. It will be fascinating to see how they do it. Work is busy, and people are looking at our country. Private equity is looking at India."
