An advocate for STEM education for women, Revathi Advaithi sits on the driver’s seat at Flex (formerly Flextronics), a Singapore-based Nasdaq-listed contract manufacturing services company, which produces everything from EV modules to vacuum cleaners. As the CEO, Advaithi has steered the company on the growth path amid the pandemic, geopolitical turbulence, and supply chain disruptions.
Leading a global workforce of over 170,000 spanning 30 countries, Advaithi knew she needed to take care of her employees through the pandemic to keep them motivated. The company recorded $30.3 billion in net sales in FY23 against $26 billion in FY22. So, how does Advaithi handle challenging situations? “Witnessing my mother — who had no education and became a widow at a very young age with five daughters to care for — persevere to build the best possible life for her family has been an inspiration for me,” says Advaithi.
